Building Little Mountain Park's Trail System
Our vision is to see the robust trail system and facilities envisioned in the Little Mountain Park Master Plan through to completion, including the Heart of the Park trailhead facility and trail connections to surrounding parks, neighborhoods, and forest lands.
Since work began in 2009, local volunteers have made Big Things Happen at Little Mountain Park, contributing over 15,000 man-hours toward building and maintaining over six miles of new multi-use trails that hikers, runners, and mountain bikers now enjoy everyday. The Little Mountain Trail Builders program is underwritten by the Mount Vernon Parks Foundation and works in close conjunction with the City of Mount Vernon's Parks & Enrichment Services.
